Life Transitions, Schedules and Routines
When raising children, schedules and routines are vital for survival lol. During the postpartum period and beyond. Having predictable routines and schedules for toddlers and older children is a form of self-care as structure decreases overall stress. This is easier said than done for many people like myself, especially those who may struggle with conditions like ADHD which impacts the prefrontal cortex, the brain responsible for executive function skills such as planning and organization. There is so one size fits all with caring for multiple children and so I’ve learned to give myself grace and try practical things that work for my family. I have created a Teaching Executive Skills at Home Printable to help families with routines and set screen time-limits. Most importantly, being intentional to slow down and prioritize time for teaching scripture, affirmations and reflection. You can follow the link below and I am sure it would be a blessing.
